EDG has been selected as the preferred tenderer for the Participatory Planning, Research and Evaluation Panel by the Commonwealth Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA). The tender was submitted with two consortium partners: Building Indigenous Capacities (BIC) Pty Ltd and Cross Cultural Consultants International Pty Ltd. The consortium nominated 10 experts with Planning, Research and Evaluation experience in International Development and Indigenous Community Development. Nick Clinch, Director

Nick specialises in aid effectiveness, rural development and institutional development. With over 20 years of experience in project design, management, monitoring and evaluation, Nick has considerable expertise in performance management and project cycle management. Having led donor-financed livestock development projects in Zambia in the 1990s, Nick assumed responsibility for GRM International’s offices in Southern Africa and Australia. He is now responsible for the technical and administrative operation of the Effective Development Group.  
Nick has worked with many clients, including the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), the UK Department for International Development (DfID), the European Commission (EC), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Development Bank of Southern Africa, the World Bank and a number of national governments and NGOs. He has experience in East and Southern Africa, South Asia and, most recently, South-East Asia, China and the Pacific Islands. His mother tongue is English and he speaks conversational Kiswahili. Nick is based in Melbourne, Australia.

James Medhurst, Manager - Europe & the Middle East

James Medhurst has over 22 years of project cycle management, results based management and UK government policy experience with the Department for International Development (DFID). His country experience includes Ghana, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Small Island States in the the Pacific region. James has a long track record of managing large rural livelihood, public sector reform programmes, strategic planning and in leading teams in project design and appraisal, monitoring and evaluation. He is based in London, UK.

Laurent de Schoutheete, Manager - Asia & the Pacific

Laurent specialises in strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation. He has experience in a number of sectors including governance, rural development, energy, transport, and water and sanitation. Laurent is currently acting as the M&E Advisor to a number of programs, including long-term initiatives to support justice sector reform (East Timor) and, enhance public sector capacity (East Timor). He has previously undertaken a number of strategic evaluations on behalf of the European Commission (EC) and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), and has provided training on M&E to a number of bodies, including the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). 

He has experience in South Asia, South-East Asia and the Pacific Islands but has also undertaken assignments in the DRC, Mozambique, Syria and Uganda. His mother tongue is French but he is fluent in English, and conversational in Spanish and Portuguese. Laurent is based in Canberra, Australia.

Simon Milligan, Manager - Africa

Dr. Simon Milligan specialises in design, monitoring, reviews and knowledge management. He has experience of governance, civil society and livelihood issues in stable and fragile environments (e.g. DRC, Liberia, Nigeria). He has worked with or on assignments financed by the UK Department for International Development (DfID), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the European Commission (EC). He has long- and short-term experience in West and Southern Africa, and is a native English speaker.  Simon is based in Pretoria, South Africa.

Susanne Prudlow, Knowledge Manager

Susanne Prudlow specialises in knowledge management. She currently serves as Knowledge Management and Research Advisor on the DFID funded Central Asian Regional HIV/AIDS Programme. She has experience in the areas of education, health and HIV/AIDS with particular emphasis on vulnerable populations and gender. She has worked with a range of donors including the European Commission (EC), Deutsche Gesellschaft for Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), Kreditanstalt fuer Wiederaufbau (KfW), the Department for International Development (DFID) and the World Bank. Her mother tongue is German, but she is fluent in English and can work in Russian, Dutch and French. Susanne is based in London, UK.

Rebecca Lyngdoh Reye, Coordinator

Rebecca specialises in community development with a particular focus on participatory approaches and gender equity. Rebecca has experience in program management in the sectors of economic development (urban and rural), HIV & AIDS, water and sanitation, adult education, strengthening of civil society organisations and disaster response. Her recent experience has focused on engagement with civil society and grants mechanisms. She has worked with programs funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), the European Commission (EC) and the Department for International Development (DfID). Rebecca has lived and worked in Papua New Guinea and El Salvador. Her mother tongue is English and she is conversational in Tok Pisin (PNG Pidgin) and Spanish. Rebecca is based in Canberra, Australia.
